JMeier Real Estate was founded in 1984 by B.J. and Debby Johanningmeier to reinvent residential real estate in Northern Colorado. Rooted in the values of integrity, honesty, and hard work, Debby slowly grew their real estate agency by putting clients’ needs first.
While Debby brokered the best residential real estate deals in Fort Collins, B.J. spent 15 years in the insurance industry specializing in security sales before becoming a licensed real estate agent in 1992. During his first year as a Northern Colorado real estate agent, B.J. earned “Rookie of the Year” honors and has never looked back. Gleaning experience in residential real estate, commercial real estate, and land development transactions with Coldwell Banker and Re/Max, B.J. transitioned to JMeier Real Estate full-time in 2014.

During the past decade, B.J. has brokered commercial real estate and land development projects resulting in more than a dozen new community developments in and around Fort Collins. B.J. takes real estate education and compliance seriously and, as such, is accredited by an array of real estate organizations. His current real estate accreditations include:

Founders
B.J. Johanningmeier
B.J. has called Fort Collins home for more than 40 years. The son of a homebuilder and real estate agent, B.J. came into real estate naturally. He is a Colorado State University graduate and former CSU Ram football star. B.J. spent 3 years in the NFL, finishing his career with the Denver Broncos in 1974. Working with developers and home builders, B.J. has been involved in seventeen (17) developments in the Northern Colorado area.
Debby Johanningmeier
Originally from Aurora, Nebraska, Debby also attended CSU. After 10 years in residential real estate, Debby earned her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing degree (BSN) at the University of Northern Colorado. As a registered nurse (RN), Debby is passionate about helping people and has been on several mission trips with orthopedic surgeons to El Salvador. Debby provides back office support and is the secretary and treasurer of JMeier Real Estate.
